21 specialists, with expertise covering all aspects related to footwear industry, from anthropologists, designers, material ingeeners to chemists etc.

IPS’s range of activity includes:

  • Research and development,
  • Functionality, comfort and quality of footwear.
  • Examinations of children's and adults’ feet.
  • Examination of new materials and shoes in accordance with national as well as international standards.
  • Investigation of piezoelectric properties of materials.
  • Innovative materials and plastics, including shoe sensors, shoe batteries, shoe actuators, "intelligent materials” and nanomaterials, electroactive polymers.
  • Modern design of footwear and shoe components, construction, graduating of patterns as well as technology and organisation of production,
  • Proecological and innovative tanning technologies as well as technology of production and processing of plastics,
  • Protection of natural environment, waste management
  • Microbiological properties of materials
  • Quality evaluations and expert opinions, investigation and valuation of: materials, footwear, adhesives, components and another shoe materials.

  • „Promotion of the best availlable techniques in the European footwear and tanning sectors” acronym: SHOEBAT, LIFE12ENV/ES/000243 programme.
  • „Footwear carbon Footprint” acronym: CO2SHOE. LIFE12ENV/ES/000243 programme.

Realization of national projects:

  • In the period of 2009 to 2013 there were realized over 70 research and development project, including projects realized with representatives of industry
